Dr. Marisa Franco is the author of the New York Times bestseller Platonic.

Dr. Franco is also a professor at the University of Maryland and a  practicing psychologist. Her work focuses on human connection, and she’s researched  friendship all over the world.

She’s a regular contributor to Psychology Today,and has also been published in Scientific American, The New York Times and more. She also does  speaking engagements at private companies, nonprofits and universities, in which she often discusses how to build relationships with peers.

She currently lives in Washington D.C.
